Part 1: Setting the Scene (Ian)
"Good morning, everyone! We are so excited to be here at this wonderful carnival. My name is Ian. Today, we want to share a story about a girl named Dorothy and her big adventure. Dorothy lived in a place called Kansas. In Kansas, everything was gray. The sun made the grass gray, and the small house she lived in was gray too. Dorothy lived with her Uncle Henry and her Aunt Em. Even though Kansas was not colorful like this carnival, Dorothy was happy. Do you know why? It was because she had her family. Uncle Henry worked hard, and Aunt Em loved her very much. Just like you, Dorothy felt safe and warm because of her family's love. Home is not just a building; it is the people who love us! "
Part 2: Dorothy’s Joy (Torres)
"Hello, I am Torres. In the middle of that gray world, Dorothy had a secret to staying happy. Her secret was a little black dog named Toto! Toto had long, silky hair and small black eyes that twinkled merrily. Toto was Dorothy’s best friend. They played together all day long. When Uncle Henry looked sad, or when the world felt too gray, Toto would make Dorothy laugh. This reminds us that in our families, we have friends who make us smile—maybe it’s your brother, your sister, or your pet! Dorothy loved Toto with all her heart. She learned that even when things are difficult, having someone to care for makes every day special. Let’s remember to be kind to our 'Totos' at home! "
Part 3: The Scary Storm (Sheldon)
"Hi, my name is Sheldon. One day, the sky in Kansas became very dark. Uncle Henry looked up and shouted, 'A cyclone is coming!' A cyclone is a very, very strong wind. It can blow houses away! Uncle Henry and Aunt Em were very brave. They ran to the cellar—a safe room under the ground. Aunt Em called out, 'Dorothy, come quickly!' But Dorothy was worried about Toto. Toto was scared and hid under the bed. Dorothy didn't run away; she went back to save her little dog. This shows us what family does—we protect each other! Even when the 'storms' of life are scary, our parents and our loved ones are there to keep us safe. It was a very frightening moment, but Dorothy was brave for her family. "
Part 4: The Flying House (Oceana)
"Hello, I am Oceana. Just as Dorothy picked up Toto, the cyclone hit the house! Suddenly, the house didn't fall down. It started to fly! The wind lifted the house higher and higher into the sky, just like a giant balloon. Dorothy and Toto were inside, spinning in the air. It was very noisy and dark. Dorothy was very afraid. She missed Aunt Em and Uncle Henry. She realized that without her family, the house felt very empty. While the house was flying through the clouds, Dorothy held Toto tight. Even in the middle of a big adventure, all she wanted was to be back with her aunt and uncle. This tells us that no matter how far we travel or how many toys we have, nothing is better than being with our family. "
Part 5: Lesson of Love (Luna)
"Hi, I am Luna, the final speaker. After flying for a long time, the house landed softly on the ground. Dorothy opened the door and saw a beautiful, colorful land. But her first thought was still about her home in Kansas. Today, we are here to celebrate 'Parental Love.' Like Dorothy, we might sometimes face 'cyclones' or scary things. But we are lucky because we have parents and teachers who are like a strong house, protecting us from the wind. Dorothy eventually said the most famous words: 'There is no place like home.' So, today, let’s give our parents a big hug and say 'Thank you!' Thank you for listening to our story. We hope you have a magical day at the carnival! "
